Repairing Radiant Heating The Right Way

This article is going to focus on Radiant Heating systems and below we are going to tell you the correct way to repair your radiant heat system.

No matter what type of HVAC system you have you should always make sure that it is repaired the correct way. Here at All Climate our company is designed to provide you with any HVAC service that you may need along with the correct way to repair your systems.

Radiant Heating

Radiant floor heating has many advantages over the standard traditional furnaces and boilers. Radiant home heating uses panels under your floor to distribute warm air throughout the rooms in your home. We have discovered that radiant heating actually heats homes more evenly and efficiently than most conventional furnaces and boilers. However just like every type of heating system radiant heat can break down and require maintenance. Below we are going to provide you with some common signs indicating a problem with your heating system and the correct steps that you should take to fix the problem.

Rule Out Outside Factors

If you notice that your floor heating system isn’t keeping your home at the desired temperature the first place to check is the outside factors. There are several outdoor factors that can degrade your heaters performance. If you have recently redecorated your home be aware that heavy carpets and large amounts of furniture can easily block the heat, preventing the air from being as warm as you would like for it to be. It is also important that you keep in mind that heat rises and the floor panel system is designed to fill your home with warmth from the floor up, so it can sometimes take a long time for your home to reach the desired temperature. If you turn on your floor heating and your home still doesn’t feel warmer an hour later it could just be the heat taking its time to expand throughout your home. A possible solution for this problem is to install a smart thermostat so that you can make sure your home is warmed up in advance when you need it.

Still Not Getting The Correct Temperature?

If your floor heating is still not providing the warmth you are looking for there are a few other steps that we recommend you try. If you have water-based floor panels you can adjust the temperature of the hot water heater up or down to try and find the perfect temperature. If you prefer your showers hotter than your floor heat you can also install a mixing valve, which will keep the floor from heating up to much.

When Good Floor Heating Goes Bad

Once you have tried all of the steps above if you are still not satisfied it is then time to turn it over to us here at All Climate. We have teams of highly trained professionals that are always eager to help. We can troubleshoot your system and find the best possible solution for the problem. A lot of heating and cooling companies don’t deal with radiant heating systems, but here that is not a problem. Our professionals can deal with any form of radiant heating problems. Our service here at All Climate don’t however stop at radiant heating we can providing you with any form of heating repairs no matter what type of system you are using. Tankless Water Heater Advantages

At All Climate, we strive to offer each of our customers with the products and services needed to have a comfortable home. From HVAC services to plumbing options, we offer a long list of options for you to have an energy efficient and quality functioning home. A water heater is needed in the modern home to provide hot water for a number of activities from bathing to cooking. When it comes to installing a hot water heater, there are many options to choose from. The latest and most popular on the market today is the tankless water heater. This system can help you save money as well as provide quality hot water in the home with minimal effort.

How Does A Tankless System Work?

A tankless hot water heater is a new type of unit to the market that can help you heat water in the home with minimal energy usage. The process of the units operation begins with the hot water tap being turned on. Once the tap is turned on, the water will enter the heater. The water flow sensor will detect the water flow and the computer of the unit will automatically ignite the burner.

The water will circulate through the heat exchanger, which will heat the water to the designated temperature. Once the tap is turned off, the water heater will shut off.

Advantage Of A Tankless Water Heater

Now you may be wondering how a tankless system will be of advantage to your home. Our team at All Climate is ready to help you understand just how this unit type can benefit you and your family. With a tankless system, you will never have to have a cold shower. When you use an older unit type, you will find that the more showers taken, the harder it is to heat the water. When you have multiple people in the home, this can be an issue especially in the mornings.

Heat It As You Need It

A tankless water heater running off propane will heat the water as you need it, eliminating the issue of having cold water. You will also be able to run more appliances at a time since you will have more hot water to use. This means you can take a shower while you wash clothes in the washing machine or washing dishes in the dishwasher. This is a great benefit to having this type of hot water heater.

Long Life Span

The tankless unit type has a life span of 20 years or longer when cared for. The warranty offered with a unit from our company can be for as long as 10 to 15 years, covering you for major issues. This is a major benefit that is cost effective to your home and hot water needs.

Save Energy

By using a tankless system, you will be saving energy which is beneficial to the environment. You will also be purchasing an environmentally friendly unit as the system is made of recycled materials. This makes for easy disposal when you need a new unit, 20 years down the road. You also have the benefit of installing this unit type anywhere in your home. Because the unit is small and hung on the wall, the system takes up much less space as compared to the larger units.

If you are in need of a new hot water heater, consider installing a tankless system. Let our team of technicians give you the information you need on this system type and evaluate your home for installation. Once we go over the details, you can decide if the system will work best for your home. Let us provide you with the quality hot water you deserve in the home. Contact us today to get started!

5 Things About Geothermal Energy

When you are considering a new HVAC system install, you may want to think about a geothermal energy system. At All Climate, we have the knowledge and experience to help you learn more about geothermal energy units as well as additional unit types. A geothermal energy HVAC system is the latest innovation being used in homes today to provide a streamlined option for heating and cooling the home. A geothermal heat pump can lower your energy cost in the extreme seasons as well as last for many years to come.

Since geothermal energy is relatively new within the last few years, many home owners have no idea as to what this form of energy is as well as how the heat pump functions. Below are a few simple facts to help you get to know this HVAC system type.

(1) Geothermal Energy & Refrigerator Are Alike

This unit type can be compared to a refrigerator in the way it works. A refrigerator will remove heat from the interior and then transfer it to the kitchen space. A heat pump using geothermal energy will use the same way of operation but will transfer the heat from the ground to your home.

Long loops of piping are placed in the ground and will fill with liquid. The liquid will be either an antifreeze solution or water. The loops are connected to the heat pump in the home and will act as the heating and cooling source.

In the winter months, the unit will pull heat from the ground via the liquid and then deliver the heat to the unit to warm the home. In the hotter months, the system will run the same process in reverse. The air is distributed through a hydronic system or a forced-air option whenever in use.

(2) High Upfront Cost

When you install this type of unit for your home, you could be looking at a cost of $10,000 to as high as $20,000 or even $30,000, depending on the install type. There are many factors that will determine the cost such as digging, drilling, plot size and system configuration. Ductwork modifications may be needed or excavation of your property to install the unit.

However, the overall cost is well worth it once you see your savings. If you plan on staying in your home for years to come, you will be able to rely on your unit and spend less to heat and cool the home for decades.

(3) Real Benefits

There are many real benefits to using this type of system in the home. The lower operating cost being a major one. You can save as much as 30 to 60 percent by changing to this unit type. Clean and renewable geothermal energy is used so that you are not harming the environment as well as keeping your home safe by not using any harmful fuels.

(4) Not a DIY Project

The installation of a geothermal unit is something best left to the experts like our team at All Climate. The system requires expertise in the HVAC field to have the unit installed correctly as well as have an effective operating system.

(5) Different Loop Systems

The loop system of the geothermal unit can be in a horizontal or vertical pattern. The type of system you install will determine the price of your total installation. Some homes can use the horizontal while others need the vertical to conserve space.

Our team at All Climate is ready to assist you with your geothermal energy needs. Let us help you better understand what geothermal energy can do for you and your home. Contact our office today to get started learning more about this innovative energy source for the home.

Tips For Hiring HVAC Contractors

Nobody wants to get scammed and, believe it or not, HVAC contractors are scamming people even today. Crazy right?! We all have to hire a HVAC contractor at some point in our lives when our HVAC system decides to trouble us quit on us. We need to make sure the one we hire is someone we can trust. Here at All Climate Heating and Cooling we want you to avoid those scams. We have a highly trained team of professionals whom we guarantee are very trustworthy. However since we are not conveniently located to everyone in the US, we want to provide you with a few tips that you should follow when looking for an HVAC professional to hire.

Check Credentials and Licenses

When hiring an HVAC contractor it is important that you check their credentials and licenses. Proof of experience and capability can be hard to check, but the company from which the technician works for should have proof of the proper licensing and certification available for you. If they don’t have a business license, a NATE certification, or have proof that they are insured and bonded then that should be a red flag for you to not use that company.

Verify An Established Reputation

When hiring HVAC contractors you always want to know what kind of reputation they have so that you know they do their job correctly.

The easiest way to check the reputation of the HVAC contractor you are planning to hire is to contact your local Better Business Bureau. They should be able to tell you whether they have a good or bad reputation so that you don’t get ripped off.

Another way to check the reputation is to go to the company’s website. Each website should have a section for their customers to leave a review and most customers are not going to lie about the service they received. Don’t however worry about just one complaint. If the company you are looking into has a complaint that is not always a bad thing. The complaint may have been something that the company needed to improve on therefore they have more than likely fixed the problem to better service you.

Confirm Good Business Practices

When you are looking for a new HVAC company to use always be sure to ask questions. If they care about their customers even in the least bit, they will be more than happy to answer any question you may have. Ask questions such as how long has the company been in business and do their employees undergo background checks? Questions like these will only help you out in the long run.

Dedication to Customers

You want to look for experienced HVAC contractors who present you with ways to get the most for your money. They should offer you information about rebates, extended warranties, and special discounts. Good HVAC contractors are not there to rip you off. Most want to save you the most money they possibly can. Most HVAC contractors should even provide you with heating and cooling tips to save you money on your monthly energy bills.

Good Qualified Services

Here at All Climate we suggest that you try and find a company that sells the particular system you have to perform your HVAC services. The contractors working for the company will be better experienced when working on your particular type of HVAC system.

If your system however is not being made and sold anymore, just keep in mind the tips we have given above when hiring a professional and you should be fine. Even though following some of the tips provided above may seem difficult to follow they really aren’t. Here at All Climate we have everything listed above available to all of our customers because their business is most important to us. So if you live in an area near us please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be more than happy to help you out with all of your HVAC services.

Air Filters And Furnace Efficiency

Air FiltersJust like with your air conditioner, the air filters on your furnace should be changed out regularly to make sure you get the best efficiency out of the unit. Our team here at All Climate understands that there are many types of air filters out there to choose from. Finding the right filter can seem difficult but there are a few tips to keep in mind.

Be sure you take these tips and ideas to heart so you get the best quality out of your furnace this winter. You’ll be glad you did when your furnace runs well and keeps your entire home cozy and comfortable.

Types of Air Filters

When you’re searching for a filter you’ll find that each one has what is called a MERV rating. The higher the rating, the denser the material is. That means it’s harder for particles to get through the filter but it also makes it harder for the air to come through. That alone will reduce your furnace efficiency. The best thing to do is to find the middle ground between keeping pollutants out and the air coming through. See what filter works best for your home without blocking out too much of the air coming through.

How Do Air Filters Efficiency?

Understanding how your furnace air filter works will help you know why it’s important to change it. The air comes from your home through the filter and into the furnace. The filter blocks out particles in your air such as pollutants, chemicals, pet dander, dust, and mold. When the air filters are not changed regularly, they can become clogged and cause major issues with pulling the air through. It can make the unit work much harder than it has to. By keeping the air filters changed out regularly you can make sure your efficiency is at it’s peak this winter.

Install Air Cleaner

One thing you can do to get a better indoor air quality while keeping your furnace happy is installing a whole house air cleaner. Our team of highly trained technicians can assist you in finding the right one. The air cleaner does the job, more thoroughly, of a high MERV rated filter. That means that you can have clean air without causing trouble to your furnace system. These air cleaners can purify the air in your home giving you a more comfortable and easier to breathe atmosphere. It also keeps your furnace working in tip top shape.

These are just a few ways to help your furnace do an efficient job this winter with clean air filters. You can also check out air duct cleaning to make sure that the ducts themselves are free and clear of pollutants that might clog the filter system. Our team at All Climate is here to make sure you stay warm and cozy this winter. We can assist you with furnace repairs, installations, maintenance, and more to help you make the most of your furnace efficiency.

Call our office today to see how our highly trained technicians can assist you. Whether you need an air cleaner installed or just routine maintenance, our technicians have you covered. Protect your furnace and your family this winter by ensuring that your air filters are clean or changed every 30-60 days. Remember that the higher MERV ratings can mean a hard time on your furnace. Using these tips to keep your air filters changed will surely increase the furnace efficiency in your home and keep you breathing easy and relaxing.

Let our team here at All Climate assist you with all your heating needs this winter. Whether you need a repair or replacement, our team is here to help you.

Correct Use of Programmable Thermostat

Programmable ThermostatUsing programmable thermostats in your home make it easy to keep your home regulated and comfortable. Here at All Climate, we recommend using these programmable thermostats to get more efficiency from your current HVAC system. You can set and forget while your home stays comfortable and cozy throughout the day.

Take a look at the different options you can choose for your home and see why our team recommends these invaluable tools be added to your current heating and cooling system.

Programmable Thermostats Options

A variety of programmable thermostat options make it easy to find one that fits your lifestyle and home. You can use the seven day program which allows you to set the schedule for each day of your week. You can choose to set a schedule up for an entire week. There’s a 5-2 week option which allows you to set some settings for the week and different ones for the weekend. You can also select what is called a 5-1-1 program. The week is on one schedule but your Saturday and Sunday are set individually.

Thermostat Rules To Remember

Make sure that you change out the batteries at least once a year in your programmable thermostats if they run on batteries. If you do not change them they could run out and you not realize it until your home is uncomfortable. Be sure when you set your thermostat that you allow it to stay at the set temperature for at least eight hours at a time. Do not use the hold button or vacation settings for too long at a time. This can cause the system to use more energy than if you set it up on a program.

Where to Set The Thermostat

This will typically depend on your own personal comfort level. Our team can make recommendations but in the end it will be more of a personal preference where you keep your thermostat. Here are a few guidelines you can use to make it easier to try out. Remember these are just guidelines and are dependent on other factors in your home and personal comfort levels.

During the winter the optimum programmable thermostat setting is around 68 degrees. Anytime you’re asleep or going to be away from your home, you can usually drop that by 10 to 15 degrees. This will keep you warm when you’re home but it has no need to run if you’re not. You’ll find that 78 degrees is typically best for the summer. If you’re going to be gone you can program it to be higher than that and to drop back down before you arrive.

These are just a few ways that the programmable thermostat can help you out in your home. These tips help you know where to set it for optimum energy efficiency. Our team at All Climate offers installation services and tips to help you get the most out of your HVAC system you currently have. Talk with one of our highly trained technicians today to see just how easy the programmable thermostat is and how simple life can be.

You can program it and forget it when it comes to these reasonably priced additions to your home. Not only can you better manage the temperature when you’re home, you can set it for vacation days, work weeks and many other settings in the event you need to change things up. You can also purchase thermostats that are wireless controlled and you can use your smart-phone to do it from anywhere. Call our office today to see how we can help you make your home more comfortable with a thermostat upgrade.

Over the past months, All Climate has been working with customers to collect food donations to benefit Northwest Harvest. Northwest Harvest is a statewide hunger relief agency that provides nutritious food to those who need it. Last year alone, Northwest Harvest was able to obtain over 24 million pounds of food to distribute to more than 300 food banks, hot meal programs and elementary schools across Washington. All Climate customers have helped make it possible to donate 2-3 boxes of food per week for this cause, and we will continue to do so.
